TEACHERS PERSPECTIVES ON K13 (2013 CURRICULUM) FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN MEDAN

Abstract

This study explores about teachers’ perspectives on K13 ( 2013 curriculum ) for elementary school in Medan. The K13 ( 2013 curriculum ) is designed as an effort to prepare the Indonesian generation of 2045 (100 years of independent Indonesia), while utilizing the momentum of the productive age population which is very abundant in order to be a demographic bonus and not a demographic disaster. But there are different perspectival findings from teachers teaching in different elementary schools in Medan. There are some teachers who are very supportive of this K13 program, there is also a less support with some of the reasons described by the teacher. The purpose of this study is to see and know the perspectives of these teachers on K13 and want to know what needs to be revised from the K13 program that is applied for elementary school. This type of research is Descriptive Qualitative research. The data of this research are three teachers who teach in different elementary schools in Medan. This study also describes the various reasons the teacher supports or not and also describes what things need to be improved from the K13 curriculum applied in elementary school in Medan.
