IMPROVED STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES ON STATISTICAL MATERIAL THROUGH REALISTIC MATHEMATICAL APPROACH ON The STUDENTS of CLASS XI SMA Country 6th BINJAI

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to see an increase in student learning outcomes in the statistical material in class XI SMA Country 6th Binjai, describe and compare the effectiveness of learning via mathematical realistic approach with the students who follow the regular learning. This research is a research action class (PTK). The subject in this study are students of Class XI IPA 1 of 37 people. That became the object of this research is the application of math in realistic approach. Research instrument in the form of tests, observation, and question form. Technique of data analysis consists of individual student learning and ketuntasan classical, ketercapaian Specific learning objectives (TPK) and observations. Based on the research results obtained improvement student learning in the learning process of the students thoroughly teaching learning activities I total 73% to teaching learning activities II students who finished 78% increased by 5%, and on student teaching learning activities III being 89%, increased by 11%, on the post test total 92% students. Certain learning objectives the first indicator is found to complete 92.9%, the second indicator total 92.4%, an indicator of the third and fourth 91.9%. To the average value of its class on teaching learning activities amounting to 76.1, to teaching learning activities II of 77.9 and for teaching learning activities III of 80.2. Seen here that the average value of its class also experienced an increase of any learning process. The ability of teachers and students during the learning process may be classified as either a teacher may well present a material study and regulate the students processed. Students are also active during the learning process. Students are able to present the results of its work very well and are able to answer the question given the teacher or other groups with the good and the right answers. Student response through learning mathematical approach against realistikdengan belongs to both. Seen from the positive response of students in learning through realistic mathematical approach. From the results of the research, it can be drawn the conclusion that the application of a mathematical approach to discipline can be used as an alternative for teachers of mathematics to apply an innovative mathematics learning, can create an atmosphere of fun, learning and giving opportunities at students to express ideas in a language and manner of their own.
