Abstract

This study aims to: 1) produce thematic materials; and (2) Produce thematic effective materials. This research is a development research using Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel development model, which is modified 4D model. This is a research instrument validation, bservation sheet, and Student Books Trial I was conducted on students of class IV-b as many as 24 students and trial II was done on the students of grade IV -a as many as 25 students in State Elementary School No. 091618 Trade. From the results of this study obtained that: (1) developed thematic materials have been feasible to use; 2) Teaching materials that are developed effectively, seen from the achievement of students learning mastery. Furthermore, it is suggested that teachers can use thematic materials as an alternative learning, to improve student learning outcomes
