THE DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE CHEMISTRY LEARNING MATERIAL WITH SCIENTIFIC APPROACH IN ACID-BASE TITRATION TOPIC

The development of innovative chemistry learning material with scientific approach to meet standard learning resources to improve studentís competence as required by the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) curriculum is explained in this research. Students with low competence in analytical chemistry become a problem for chemists and need to be overcomed by the use of standard and good quality learning resources. The aim of this research is to develop a package of standard chemistry learning material in scientific approach on Acid-Base Titration topic to improve studentís competence on Analytical Chemistry. The research is carried out through the integration of scientific approach such as problem based learning, laboratory works, mini projects, and learning media in to the Acid-Base Titration topic, to make learning activities becomes contextual. The results showed that standard learning material with scientific approach has been developed well in standard mode. It has been implemented as learning media in the teaching of titration. Studentís achievement in experimental class, that was the class given an innovative learning material, is found better than that in control class that was the class with conventional teaching. The developed learning material has proven to be effective to improve studentís competence in analytical chemistry.
