SUITABILITY OF ACCOUNTING CURICULUM BASED INDONESIAN QUALIFICATION FRAMEWORK (IQF) : (Empirical Evidence in Medan City, North Sumatra Province)

This study aims to examine the suitability of Accounting Curriculum based on Indonesian Qualification Framework (IQF) or KKNI for the job market requirements of the accounting profession and the suitability of the quality of accounting graduates with the needs of the job market. This Research funding by Research grant from North Sumatra Research Council, Local Goverment of North Sumatra Province, year of 2016 budget.
The research was conducted at Foreign Investment Company and Public and private Universities in Medan City, North Sumatera Province. Total of 126 respondents answered Questionaired consisting Manager of Accountancy and Academicians. The hypoteses testing was using Chi-Square analysis techniques used to test hypotesis research. The Finding fact based empirical data showed the results first and second hypoteses can be accepted. Actually suitability of Accounting Curriculum is very important to adjustment and continous improvement.
The conclusion of the research is that there is a suitability the Accounting curriculum compiled by universities and those required by the business, as well as the quality graduates of Accounting expected by users. The limitation of this research is in the research area which is limited to one province only, so it is feared to have low level of generalization. Future research recommendations are big population and more sample respondents are urgent and important.
